Mother of 1400 Children- Sindhutai Sapkal 😊😊😊

Mother of 1400 Children- Sindhutai Sapkal 😊😊😊

We face a lot of problems in our life. Sometimes a person goes through lot of troubles, mainly because they are not financially stable. But the worst thing is, when someone has to beg to get some food for himself or herself. There are lot of circumstances which leads to make someone beggar & society has never treated well to this kind of people. But have you ever thought that, one beggar can give thousands of children proper education, a better life? Seems impossible, but there is a lady who is doing this tremendous work. Her name is "Sindhutai Sapkal". A social activist and popularly known as 'Mai' (Mother). Sindhutai has adopted around 1400 children’ & runs an orphanage for them. Sindhutai’s life journey was not that easy & it's full of struggle, pain. Today I will try to tell you about Sindhutai’s journey, some major events of her life & about her work.

She was born on 14 November 1948 at Pimpri Meghe village in Wardha district Maharashtra. Abject poverty, responsibilities & an early marriage forced her to quit formal education after she passed 4th grade. At the tender age of 12, she got married to a 20-year elder man than her. She had 3 sons by the time she turned 20. Sindhutai put up a successful agitation against strongman, on issue of collection of dried cow dung used as fuel and selling it in collusion with forest department, without paying anything to the villagers. Her agitation brought the district collector to her village and on realizing she was right; he passed an order which the strongman did not liked. She managed to convince her husband to abandon her when she was beyond 9 months of her pregnancy. Her husband thrashed her and kicked her on her full-term belly and threw her in a cowshed. Tormented and tortured, Sindhutai in a great pain, gave birth to a baby girl. Sindhutai cut her umbilical cord with the stone.

She went to her maternal village but everyone shunned her and rejected her. Even her mother closed the doors. Sindhutai was alone in the world with her little daughter to look after. She wanted to save herself from the pangs of hunger and wicked ways of people. She took shelter in a crematory. She saw a dead body was burning. The last rites were over and the relatives of the departed had left. They had left some flour as a part of the last rituals for the departed soul. Sindhutai took that flour, kneaded it and prepared a bhakari (roti) and baked it on the fire which was still consuming the dead body.

Sindhutai is blessed with natural flare for singing. She used to sing and beg at railway stations and feed herself and her baby. She would visit temples, traveling by train, begging and singing. She would feed other beggars too. She wondered from one place to another begging and singing. She had no one to look up to and she belonged to none. Gradually, Sindhutai started work for orphans and destitute and other less fortunate. She poured out her motherly love and affection on orphans. She gave them food and shelter in whatever way she could. Lovingly they call her Aai. She entrusted her little daughter whom she had named Mamata to Shrimant Dagaduseth Halwai Trust, so that she could be looked after properly. Sindhutai singing and begging continued.

Sindhutai has been honored with more than 750 awards for her dedication and work. She used the award money to buy land to make a home for her orphan children. She still continues to fight for the next meal for her children. Sindhutai is just 4th pass, but many of the children whom she adopted are well-educated lawyers, lecturer and some including her biological daughter, are running their own independent orphanages. One of her children is doing Ph.D. on her life.

Sindhutai has not done this social work for awards, but because she knew the pain of hunger & poverty. She has devoted her entire life for orphans. As of today, she has a grand family of 207 sons-in-law, 36 daughters-in-law. She is very kind in nature. At the age of 70, her husband came back to her apologetically. She accepted him as her child stating she is only a mother now! In person, she comes across as an unlimited source of energy and very powerful inspiration, with absolutely no negative emotions or blaming anybody. As a result, today she is fondly called 'Mai' (mother) of thousands & lakhs of people.

Sindhutai is the true inspiration for all of us, her speeches, poetries always encourage a people. Specially in today's Covid condition, where everyone is disappointed, frustrated from many things. People are going through lot of problems, be it mentally or financially. Sindhutai’s story taught us about how to tackle bad phases of life. We should stand firm even if situation is tough & do whatever is in our hands. Nothing is permanent in life; this day will get over & better days will come. We just have to keep fighting. If you want to know more about Sindhutai’s life, I'll recommend you to watch a Marathi film 'Mee Sindhutai Sapkal' released in 2010, a biopic inspired by the true story of Sindhutai Sapkal.

RESULT- DOES IT DECIDE ONE'S FUTURE !!!

RESULT: DOES IT DECIDE ONE'S FUTURE !!!

One of the memorable days in our life would be result day of our board exams. Board exam, first 10th & then 12th, considered as an important stage of our academic career. Every student does a lot of hard work while preparation of this exams and once this exam gets over, everyone just worries about results. Every parent wants that, their child should get higher percentage, some even expect them to be the top rankers. Earlier, higher percentages were like 70, 80 percentiles. But today everyone wants 90, 95 or maybe even 100 percentiles. But what if someone doesn't score higher marks in exams due to some or the other reasons. Today I would like to share my thoughts, what I have seen over the years regarding this topic.

Most unfair & unfortunate thing which happens is, comparison of marks scored by students & the worst part is criticism of students, who score lower grades. On the basis of their marks, people judge students. They try to correlate the intelligence of a person to the marks he/she has scored in the exams, which is awful. When a person is already down, we should try to encourage him or her. But instead of that, everyone just passes their pity judgements & taunts. This rude behaviour of surrounding peoples, just let down moral of that person & make him feel like looser. Sad to say, but sometimes even parents also compare their children's score with other students. We should understand that, one bad result doesn't mean the end of the world, you will always get second chance to prove yourself.
I agree to the fact that, higher scores in the exam will help you to get admissions in top universities & colleges, where you will have great facilities & opportunities ahead. But it's okay if you do your higher studies in some other colleges, because it's your skills that matters at the end of the day. It doesn't matter wherever you are, if you have the passion, dedication to learn more than you can acquire knowledge.
In today's digital world of internet, everything has just become easier for us. In just one click, we can access to millions of informative things, while sitting at home. Rather than comparing ourselves with others, we should just compare ourselves. Just try to learn new things every day, enhance your skills & become best version of yourself.

We convert dreams into reality 👷👷👷

Mazdoor, labour, kadiya, mistri, and many more words are used for us. We are being criticized by people', our profession is not taken as serious as other professions. You might have understood who we are!!!
Yes, we are CIVIL ENGINEERS 👷👷👷

Civil engineer! Still you would be wondering na why I have started such, this is the bitter truth of our society. Civil engineer is as important as water in life. We need food to survive, also we need a shelter for it which is built by an engineer. The basic commodities which we need in our daily life is available for us at our doorstep just because of engineers. Even, the water, which is most consumed, reach our home only after it is being treated. We create a path for better connectivity for all essential needs.

The biggest slogan of Indian socialism is ‘Roti, kapda aur makaan’. This remains so for humanity as a whole. This continues to be the basic needs of humanity for unending generations. Who made it possible, did you ever give a thought to it? Whether it's our foremost need or last, we are the one to revolutionize this world. The clothes we need is produced in factory, built by us. By providing better connectivity to different regions to living in a 10*10 room, everything is possible just because of us.

In this time of pandemic, we all need hospitals and better connectivity via. different means for various medical facilities. For speedy completion of this work, a civil engineer is required. We also need various technologies, IT parks for internet connectivity, mechanical engineers for vehicular operation, and other engineering field and each has it own importance. But the fact is, no field is complete without other, every field is interlinked with each other. Every engineering field has its own value, but for running those organizations, industries, factories, we all need civil engineers, as everyone needs an office, a work place for it.

The day we start our journey, we came into existence, we run for our daily needs. There is social scale which represents our dependency on engineer's.

We live in house,  we consume water for different needs which we receive through pipelines after treatment of water, the sewage produced is taken to sewage plant and after treatment it is disposed off, we use roads for moving from one place to another, we also use railways, airways and waterways for transferring of goods and passengers from one location to another, we go to shopping malls, cinema halls, parks...... The list is endless...... We are so surrounded that we can't even imagine our life without engineers.

We all are aware about the "5 pillars" for self-resilience announced by our PM Narendra Modi. We the engineers are proud of having infrastructure as one of those 5 pillars in development of nation. Every engineer has a great power of visualisation,  by sitting in an office, we plan and design the whole framework and execute it on field such that, today we see a transfigure in our surrounding.

WE CONVERT DREAMS INTO REALITY, WE ARE CIVIL ENGINEERS 👷👷👷

Is Rape a Behavioral Problem?

Rape... Rape... Rape!!!

By the time you complete reading this Article there will be 2 woman raped all over the world. The matter is that serious. According to the statistics near by 106 rapes happens per day out of which 40% victims are minors and 95% of the Rapes are committed by relatives or family members or people known to the victims!!!

Sec.375 of the IPC states the Provision for Rape
Any male person who does sexual intercourse against her will,  without consent, under pressure of death, etc...

U/S. 376 in The Indian Penal Code The Punishment for rape is
If a person commits rape he shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which shall not be less than seven years but which may be for life or for a term which may extend to ten years.

The mentality of a rapist develops from the same place as a non rapist. Rape does not develop in a safe world nor does a rapist. Some people imagine it is impossible to be raped and others imagine it is possible and others classify it as a bitter reality of their life. Rapes occur simply for physical enjoyment and they enjoy more when there is restriction from women. The rapist perceives sexual distance as rejection and consent at the same time.

The main conspiracy raised time and again is related to the size of a woman’s dress. Do the dresses provoke? Are women clad in sarees and burqas not raped? We have instances where men sexually abuse animals. Should we clothe animals too?

Another oft-cited reason is makeup. Rapists allege that women apply heavy makeup especially lipstick to lure men. How do you explain rape on minors, infants, old and aged women, women suffering from unsoundness of mind, women in comma or those hospitalized with severe ailments? People rape their daughters, sisters and sometimes even mothers. What causes such extreme depravity? The pathology is an obsession for sex.

Most of the rape are done by young boys of adolescence age which is also called as age of puberty. When these boys hit the age of puberty they become more keen and have urge and temptation to explore about sex. A skewed sex ratio, lack of accessibility and negligible interaction with people of the opposite sex play havoc on impressionable minds fed with easy access to porn and exchange nude photographs among themselves. There woman is projected as no more than an object of desire. This causes women to be viewed as commodities, meant to be consumed and ravished. These men’s  must realise that "No ka matlab No hota hai. Use bolne wali ladki koi parichit ho, friend ho, girlfriend ho, koi sex worker ho ya aapki apni biwi hi kyu na ho. ‘No’ means no and when someone says No, you must stop."

Next heinous crime is statutory rape it means girls below the age of 18 . The minors who gets suffered from these acts, lives a horrifying life and it creates a massive disaster in their mind. Many rapist comes up with the defence is there was a  consent of the minor. But according to law minors consent is immaterial and will not be considered any defence to the accused. The narrow minded people who do these acts, should be given the strict punishment so that it gives the pact lesson to the wrongdoers. Many a times family members of such minors force victims to marry rapist to avoid slander in their future lives, but is it the solution for it?

Moreover, when rape cases are filed and the way victim is questioned, it seems that she is again being raped by the system because of which it seems that fault is hers and in most of the cases culprits live a simple, happy and normal life which becomes opposite for that victim. Now time has came to change the system and make the culprits life hell, not of the victims.
Punishment for this according to law must be changed to large extent so that no-one will imagine to do such ever even in their dreams.

Do u guys really feel that rape are always done by men? The answer is no! Woman’s do force men for sex! But in India there is no such legal provision for men to complaint for rape but yes they can file against physical assault. There are even cases where women had claimed false allegation of Rape to spoil reputation of men. It is rightly said EVERY RAPE IS A SEX! BUT EVERY SEX ISN'T RAPE!

All humans are equal please treat everyone equally! This heinous crime must be stopped!

Opportunity - is it always opportune?

Life opens up opportunities to you, and you either take them or you stay afraid of taking them, choice is yours. Everything in your life is a reflection of a choice you have made. There is a new opportunity in every new moment. It is the fact, we rarely get opportunity for the same thing we missed. We may get more or less similar opportunity in future but it never be the same. We should turn our obstacles into opportunities and our problems into possibilities.

Challenges are inevitable throughout the life and allowing yourselves to be beaten is OPTIONAL. When any problem come in your life, you should try to turn this as an opportunity, if possible. Changing the way of thinking towards any problem will help you overcoming all issues. These days we are facing a crucial situation of this pandemic (COVID-19) and the whole world is at standstill right now. In the midst of every crisis, lies a great opportunity. Rather then getting affected by it, one should try to utilize the time you get in enhancing, building yourself, make yourself self competent, which will help you later. Your first objective should be, to be a better version of yourself. Is it such that opportunity is always heaven-sent?

One's desire in life will always be restricted upto certain limit, but you never know which kind of opportunity life will present to you. One should always welcome an opportunity in his/her life whether it be too small or too big, no matter. Nothing in life is handed on a silver platter. You have to really work for it. Opportunity comes to us lifelong. We just get a glimpse of it, we have to understand and grab it. Opportunity comes in every person life, but who understands it, grab it, work over it become successful in life. If somebody offers you an amazing OPPORTUNITY but you are not sure you can do it, SAY YES and then learn how to do it later.

Despite the fact that opportunities to be grabbed and used effectively, many of us miss opportunity which we think is really important. Because of it, we start feeling low, lose the hope, and let ourselves get down. But, it should not be such. It's just a part of life, a single moment does not decide your future. Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently. Most of us would have seen the movie, M.S.Dhoni-The Untold Story which is based on his career till date. There was an incident where he got the opportunity to get a step ahead towards the National team. But, due to unforeseen circumstances he missed that golden opportunity. Dhoni felt disappointed but he never gave up. His keen determination towards his goal made him one of the best captain of team India. If he would have just thinking about the missed opportunity we would not have him today as one of the greatest player of Indian team. He is one of the best example, opportunities don't happen, you create them.

Life is full of limitless opportunities, you ought to seek them. All progress takes place outside the comfort zone. The journey of life has manys ups and downs. All we have to do, we should not despair and learn to ride the waves. If you've failed that means you're doing something, if you're doing something you have a chance. Never stop trying, never stop believing. Allow yourself to be a beginner. No one starts being excellent.

First Impression- Do things change because of this?

First impression, it's just a matter of perception. We usually visualize one based on first meeting. "Is it right to envisage a person based on first impression?"

The day we start our journey towards life, neighbouring people start judging us; and distinguish in their 'Good Books & Bad Books.' The day we go for admission in school, till the last breath of our life; sadly we are always critiqued by the people. We judge by age and gender or where we live; by our education or by title or occupation; by the language we speak or by our nation; by a skin colour or by awards received; by what we spend or by what we give; ; by our past or our deeds; by one's appearance; fact is, we judge it all !!! Does it have a value?

Whether it is the first interview (school admission) or the first job of our life, whether it is our way of becoming friends or to introduce oneself, whether it is to show the way to an unfamiliar or to share memories with an acquaintance, whether it is our first step into real world or to maintain our relations; we are always disconcerting of what people will think of us. Counting other people's sins does not make you a saint. Every person has an uniqueness. Don't be afraid to do something just because you're scared of what people are going to say about you. Remember the saying by Albert Einstein.....

First impression are often formed when people observe others for the first time and use those observations to determine their personality traits. According to researchers, it has been proven  that we form our first impression within the first 7 seconds of meeting. There is no incertitude in it that first impressions do matter at some place; but it's just, how do you want to be perceived? First impression is the last impression, you will never get a second chance to make it. It's really important when it comes to making an impression in an interview, social gathering, conferences, meeting for marriage, customers for product, making friends; basically it's our whole life. If you are really fret about how people are going to deem you, you should showcase the real you.

Suppose a case, you are travelling in train and their are many persons nearby you, the person next to your seat is not too well dressed, you judge that person based on it. But, at night when you are about to sleep you came to know you forgot to bring your blanket and that same person offer you with the same; would you accept the help? Will you reject the assist based on the first impression? Is it always right to judge a person on first picture?

First impression in a way gives you leverage whether you are physically present or not. Always keep in mind making first impressions is really not a talent you need to be born with, it can certainly be learned; you can spotlight yourself in a way that makes it easy for people to find you, relate to you, choose you and see your true value. If we have to move people to action we must impress and influence, we must be one of a kind rather than one of the crowd.

First impression can be used as our personal branding, it happens in a split second and are sticky so they have a very significant and lasting effect on how we are perceived over time. First impressions are supposed to be a glimpse into what someone is like, not a final call to who he or she truly is. Don't let a first impression be the guiding point to someone's overall demeanor. Everyone deserves more than just an initial judgment call. Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.  First impression is the last impression you can't change that first impression without spending time with that person and manifest the real you.
